NEEDED: Sponsors for the X Van

"The Spirit of the Blue Planet"

Our budget for designing, building and flying our X Van candidate for the X PRIZE is $10,000,000. This budget allows for building a larger X Van that should be directly suitable as a reusable booster for our proposed reusable two-stage-to-orbit system.  We hope to obtain this amount from four types of sponsors:

•  Major Sponsors
•  Individual Associate Sponsors
•  Group of Associate Sponsors
•  "Spirit of St. Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" Sponsor

Major Sponsors are entitled to place company logos on the X Van (no more than five in the Major Sponsor category). This type of sponsorship is similar to that for Indy race cars and for stock-car racers. If you are interested in possibly becoming a major sponsor, please click here.

You can become an Individual Associate Sponsor in either of two ways:

• by signing up as an Individual Associate Sponsor for $5 (postal money orders or U.S. checks only, please, since foreign checks cost us $5 to cash)
• by accumulating $100 of purchases of our Prepaid Calling Cards, our other long distance services, T-Shirts, key tags, and/or any of  the other products offered on this web site.
  
  Unless an Individual Associate Sponsor indicates otherwise, we shall publish the first name and general locale (or full name and city -- your choice) of Associate Sponsors on a sponsor page of our web site. We shall also send an Associate Sponsor certificate to eachciate Sponsor certificate to each Individual Associate Sponsor.
  
  Each Associate Sponsor will receive a chance on the Space Tour "tour2space sweepstakes Bronze 0002 contest." NO PURCHASE NECESSARY; see Rule #2 for Bronze 0002 contest. If our  plans work out, we hope to email additional chances from time to time to our Associate Sponsors to show our appreciation for their help.

We encourage Associate Sponsors to join together in groups. For each group of ten or more Associate Sponsors, we will publish the name of the group on our web site -- as well as the individual names of each member of the group. Group sponsorship is especially welcome when checks are made on non-U.S. banks, since the our bank charges $5 for non-U.S. checks. (Note: we can cash postal money orders without paying an extra charge).

If a group comprises 2000 or more Associate Sponsors -- i.e. a total of $10,000 or more for a group sponsorship -- then we shall engrave the name of the sponsoring group on each of two, dedicated, "Spirit of St. Louis /  Spirit of the Blue Planet" plaques. We will send the larger 20 cm by 25 cm "Spirit of St. Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" plaque immediately to the sponsoring group -- along with copies of a certificate showing the names of all members of the group for each individual in the group. If we are successful in building our X Van candidate for the X PRIZE with your sponsorship help, we intend to fly the smaller 5 cm by 10 cm plaques -- without the backup mountings -- on our try for the X PRIZE. After the try at the X PRIZE, we intend to send these smaller plaques to each "Spirit of St. Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" sponsoring group, as appropriate. We also intend to prepare a special "Spirit of St. Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" plaque with the names (or optional designation) or all sponsoring groups that have 2000 or more Associate Sponsors. We also hope to fly this special plaque on our try for the X PRIZE. We will then donate this special plaque to the X PRIZE Foundation to display as they see fit.

Any individual may hold multiple memberships in a "Spirit to St. Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" sponsoring group of 2000 or more Associate Sponsors. Therefore, a "Spirit to St. Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" Sponsor may comprise a single individual, or a small group. If such a group comprises only one individual -- or ten or less individuals -- then that individual, or all of the members of the group will be engraved on the "Spirit to St. Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" plaque. By the way, each of the 2000 or more equivalent memberships in such a group qualifies for chances in the Space Tour Bronze 0002 Sweepstakes contest.

As a special show of appreciation to our "Spirit of Saint Louis /  Spirit of the Blue Planet" sponsors, we hope -- no firm promises are possible -- to award one "around the world in eighty minutes plus reentry" seat to each "Spirit of Saint Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" sponsor group.  This hope is obviously contingent upon our being able to obtain sufficient funds for our plans and upon the success of our plans.  The only firm promise that we can make to a "Spirit of Saint Louis / Spirit of the Blue Planet" sponsor group at this time is that we will prepare and deliver the plague and certificates as described in an earlier paragraph.

We do not -- and shall not -- sell lists of names, telephone numbers, email addresses, etc. However, we can not control what other people do with published information.  Some Associate Sponsors may prefer only a first name plus city, or a nickname plus city. We encourage cleverness, but we reserve the right to reject crude "nicknames."
